Three Kings Day

“Día de la Virgen Candelaria”

It is celebrated on February second

The story starts with the Epiphany Service or Three Kings Day. This year we celebrated it on January 4.

78 people came to celebrate the continuation of Christmas and give thanks to God with the coming of the three wise men, “Tres Reyes Magos” who came to visit the Baby Jesus, after looking for him.

This time the Three Kings were represented y Sr. Daniel Sastre, Sr. Jorge -------Sr. Valentine Ramirez , who are parents in the community and attend the church Amor y Paz. Mary and Joseph were represented by Sra. Esperanza Arroyo and Sr. Pablo Vargas and their newborn baby who accepted the honor.

After the service everyone was invited to meet in the Social Hall around two big tables where there where two big beautiful “Rosca de Reyes”, sweet bread in oval shape with
5 small baby dolls inside, each of them. The mission of the members of the church is to look for the Baby Jesus (niño Dios). With joy, each adult and each child cuts a piece of the Rosca and looks for the baby. This represents the three kings searching for the Baby Jesus until they found Him. Every one who found the baby will have to bring food, (tamales, atole, rice beans and salsa) to share with the people of God, on the “Día de la Candelaria Celebration”. This time we will be Celebrating on January 31, Saturday. You are invited to come at 6:30.
